Nicola O’Riordan

Nicola began primary teaching in 1993 in a socio-economically deprived area of Hull. Over the course of her career she has been a Deputy Head, science, maths and special educational needs coordinator. She has worked as a teaching and learning consultant for two Local Authorities and is a nationally accredited SAPERE level 1 Philosophy for Children trainer. Nicola is currently completing a research thesis for a doctoral degree in Educational Policy and Values.

Moira Lloyd

Moira began teaching in 1974 and has over 15 years of experience in independent, selective and residential ESBD settings. During her career her management roles have included Head of Department, Head of Year and  Key Stage Manager. Moira was a secondary SENCO for 10 years. She has worked as a Local Authority Teaching and Learning Consultant for Inclusion and is a tutor for the SEN module of a Foundation degree programme and for the postgraduate SpLD (dyslexia) accredited training for teachers.

Fiona Fitzpatrick

Fiona began teaching in 1976 in an inner city comprehensive school. During her career her leadership and management roles have included Head of Department, Head of Year and SENCO. Fiona has worked with pupils with a wide range of SEN both in mainstream and special school settings. After training as a counsellor Fiona set up and ran a unit for ESBD pupils in a mainstream secondary school in London and then moved to Liverpool to manage a residential EBD school. Fiona has worked for two different Local Authorities firstly as a National Strategy Behaviour and Attendance Consultant and then as an Adviser for Inclusion. Fiona is a trained Ofsted Inspector for SEN and has been a school Governor in several different capacities. She has a particular interest in SEN Governor training.
